@Tim - I'm interested in seeing how the viral social media campaign for Haiti continues over the next week and month. I don't foresee it slowing down any time soon.

Thanks for letting me know about the Pittsburgh orphan story. It is amazing what can be done through social media and the desire to help another individual, especially those who cannot help themselves. I hope that everything works out with bringing the orphans to Pittsburgh and I will continue to follow the story. Thanks again!

So true. The national viral movement to support Haiti has been unbelievable to watch. Another example of how these social efforts can change lives is happening here in Pittsburgh. Local blogger @JanePitt, Virgina Montanez, has been using her followers to gain support for the BRESMA orphanage in PAP. Pittsburgh has ALWAYS been a philanthropic city. The outcry of support for two local girls battling to save the lives of 150 orphaned kids has been astonishing. From building politician support for legal US acceptance of these orphans to getting needed supplies, these efforts have made a difference...all through social media. At this point, the orphans are safe, have been approved for US immigration and are stable. Now efforts have shifted to finding a large plane to bring them to Pittsburgh, where efforts will continue to support these kids. CNN is travelling to them today (fingers crossed). We are all saying prayers for these kids...and for those working to deliver them safe from danger. Please follow this story at http://www.thatschurch.com.
